Costa Brava, May 2008
My good friends Arie and Hely had invited me to join them for a week in their Costa Brava appartment. Who am I to turn that down? I visited them in May and strangely it was a week with almost tropical temperatures in Holland, but in Spain it was nice enough but nowhere near as hot. So there was no BBQ but the conditions were great for any outdoor activity. Like visiting the Toroella de Montgri market, playing some golf, mountainbiking and a spot of fishing.
After a winter lay off period I picked up the golfclubs for the first time this year. With Arie I had some enjoyable rounds at the Serres de Pals and the Playa Pals golf courses. The game may have been a bit rusty but we had a good time on the course.

Conditions weren't right for surfcasting, but with a little imagination nice fish can aways be caught in estuaries. Some common carp in the 3-5 lbs range and 2-3lbs mullet were pretty entertaining on a spinning rod.
